Physician Extenders
 Rebecca Bikram | Rebecca Bikram joined North Shore Gastroenterology Associates in 2010 as a Physician Assistant. She graduated The Mary Louis Academy High School in Jamaica, NY in 1998 and St. John’s University in Jamaica Estates, NY in 2003. Rebecca obtained an Accounting degree from SJU but decided to pursue her passion for the medical field by going back to school in 2005. While in college and PA school, Rebecca worked part-time as a Pharmacy Technician for Rite Aid Pharmacy. In 2007, she graduated York College Physician Assistant Program obtaining a B.S. in Physician Assistant Studies. During the clinical phase of PA school, she obtained her medical training at various facilities including New York Hospital of Queens in Flushing, Winthrop Hospital in Brooklyn and Queens Hospital Center in Jamaica. Soon after graduating, she started working for a private gastrointestinal office in Queens where she spent 3 years. Rebecca is on the professional staffs of St. Francis Hospital, North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and Glen Cove Hospital. She has special interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and GI malignancies. |
 | Shaheen Khalfan completed her undergraduate studies as a Presidential Scholar at NYU and obtained her Physician Assistant training at the Catholic Medical Centers PA program in 1999. Shaheen began her career as a PA working in a multidisciplinary practice providing Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Women's Health services to patients in underserved populations as well as the homeless population living in NYC shelters. She joined North Shore Gastroenterology in 2006 and works with the physicians in the practice with the evaluation and daily management of the hospitalized patients. Shaheen has medical privileges at North Shore University Hospital at the Manhasset and Glen Cove and at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn |
 | Denise DiMarco joined North Shore Gastroenterology Associates as a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner in July 2004. She holds a Master’s of Science Degree from Molloy College, Rockville Center NY. Denise has been a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York for 15 years. Prior to joining the North Shore Gastroenterology practice, Denise worked alongside many of the groups physicians while working in the Endoscopy Unit at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset assisting with procedures that included/but were not limited to endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasounds and ERCP Denise has been a Nurse Practitioner preceptor to several NP students from New York University College of Nursing, Stony Brook University and her Alma Mater Molloy College Her professional affiliations include: Phi Theta Kappa Society International Scholastic Order, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Association of Long Island, Americas Nurses Association. Denise DiMarco holds current Board Certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She has been granted privileges as a Mid-Level Practitioner for North Shore Gastroenterology Associates at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, NY St. Francis Hospital Roslyn, NY and Glen Cove Hospital, Glen Cove, NY |
